Windshiled wiper motor

Switch on works but wipers mover extremely slowly. Should I give them a slight push to help the wiper motor gain speed? Car is '66 Sprite and has been sitting for years. All systems on the car work except I cannot find a washer bottle but there is a push button on dash.

The two speeds are rather slow, and not quite as slow.

It might be internally goobered up. When the grease in them gets old it requires more force to push through it. Stupid trick/test is to steal the wife's hair dryer and warm up the wiper motor and exposed tubing. If it moves faster hot then you may want to repack it with fresh grease.

Will try tomorrow AM. Looks like a top plate just "screws" on to the motor. If grease is hard I will repack. Any special grease? I have a can of reel lube for my fishing reels. Stays soft at 30 below, used it for winter cod trips.

I do have a tub of bearing grease form the boat trailer. Will use it. Just thought that the reel grease was thinner.

Removed today, cleaned grease added som new and squirted with Corrosion X to loosen up any residual grease. Works perfect now. Thanks.
