TR2/3/3A Windshield Wiper mount rubber

Need to replace the rubber on the windshield wiper motor mount. Is there any secret to doing this. Received replacement rubber from Moss. Should these be cut before putting in the mount or is there a way to fit them without cutting. Cutting seems to be the easiest way but don't want to do it if it shouldn't be done. Searched the forum but no one seems to have addressed this in the past.

I used to muscle them in, but I noticed the installation gets more difficult, or the parts change. The last one I did, I used the original bolts and washers, and I bought some rubber plumbers washers and installed them in 2 pieces. Probably the best way to go is a kit and cutt those washers in half then install those in 2 pieces.

I've always just cut them. Lots less hassle than trying to work one side through the hole, and works just as well.

It’s been so long since I installed mine I can’t remember the specifics...but I do remember having to modify the rubber to get it installed. I think that means I cut it??
