On a BN4 or BN6, what is the relationship of the windshield and the ridge on the shroud? I'm going to try and fabricate a padded dash top and have a hard time visualizing the forward edge. I didn't take this car apart and it is not yet time to put it back together. Thanks, Bob

The windshield sits pretty much on top of the ridge.

Hi Bob. I made a new pad for my BN7 and didn't find it particularly difficult. Don't try and make a new pad without a pattern taken from another car. Perhaps someone nearby, or in your local club may have an old pad to use as a pattern. Use "Door Wood" bought at any decent wood supply place, not the big box stores but a wood supply shop. Just call around and ask for Door Wood. The original used a padded edge facing you, try and preserve that if possible. It's usually not in real bad shape. It's the beveled edge rubber part. If you don't have one it can be bought from "Woolies" in England. As long as you're making one you might as well make more and sell to others in the car club.
