Windshield Assembly

Where is the best article on how to assemble new glass and seals in a windshield frame? I hear nothing but how difficult it is, but little advice on how to do it.

I'm one of those guys that likes to do everything I can myself on my cars, HOWEVER, I was in a friend's shop recently and watched a pro change out a windscreen. A job that I will likely hire out if ever needed.

Now, the friend is a professional Brit car mechanic/builder and can and does do most every job required himself. In this case, though, he told me he had a "glass guy" coming to do the job...I was surprised.

Well, the mobile glass guy showed up, was briefed on the needed swap, and got to work, He had the old glass out while I was still looking for a shop stool. He installed the new glass and seals, picked up his check and was gone in 45 minutes. Hard to beat. The price...$100.

Just a thought,

Ray
