TR2/3/3A Windscreen Tenax

Randall...we've been missing you over here at this forum! That's a pretty cool idea. A home made helicoil. That had crossed my mind, but I assumed there wasn't enough depth to make it work. It definitely sounds like it's worth a try. Thanks!

I'm away from my usual computer and its tough to look up links & part numbers on this phone. So my apologies if I seem a lot vaguer than normal (not to mention the typos)

PS, credit for the insert idea goes to Bob Jasper (not on this forum AFAIK). My original plan was to use the Tenax studs for the aluminum surrounds as a repair for the stripped holes.
 
Well, it's great to have you back!

Cutting inserts sounds like the first way to go. I am worried that silver soldering would discolor the chrome, and anything else would require total re-chroming. Thanks again for the tip!
