I'm in the process of reinstalling parts to my '71 TR6 after a paint job. Regarding the seal between the body and the windscreen frame, is there a sealer or adhesive that I should use between the seal and the body?

I have the black body panel sealant from NAPA. Can I use that?
 
I did not use anything other then the rubber seal, when I put my TR4A together
 
The manual calls for sealastic, I do not know what exactly the product is. I used 3M strip calk part no. 08578 on my TR4.
