Windows 10 - I was assimilated

I watched the series "American Genius" last night and the episode I watched happened to be about Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Gates was not a very ethical guy IMHO! Glad I switched from PCs to the iMAC a few years ago. I don't miss Windows one little teeny tiny bit!
One thing to remember is Bill pretty much saved Apple from going bankrupt. That was around the time Steve came back to Apple.

Yeah I was forced to switch too ,while it did take a min or two to get use to it took it forever to make up its mind how it wanted to work.--:highly_amused:

Another day, another assimilation. My new HP that came with W10 installed had been working fine after getting used to it. But then they came up with their first "update" that I installed yesterday. Suddenly, all sites (including this one) were showing large grey boxes popping up all over the place that would slow loading of the site and eventually fill in with a picture or text. Uninstalled the update and everything was back to normal. Don't they ever test this stuff out first.

Rick - assuming that you mean a Windows update (not an HP or other update), what was the number of the update? I want to prevent that on my own Win10 machine. The number would be on your Windows list of removed updates.

Thanks.
Tom M.

Here you go, Tom:

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3176495).

My latest update was (KB3176493) if I see 495 pop up I'll shut it down. Thanks for the tip. PJ

We're all the "beta testers" for them.
