Window Regulator BJ7 vs BJ8

Interesting. Patrick shows his BJ8 to be about 2"
Patrick, did that come off one of the mid year BJ7-BJ8 cars, being the shaft length is between 1 1/2" - 2 1/2" ?...lol
My vin is 40928. Produced in March 1967.

Guys

Just throwing in my penny worth here. I have a BJ7 and the passenger door is from a BJ8, the door card is BJ7 and is badly dented to get the window handle on. I guess that I have either one or two problems. Wrong door for the door card - this is a given, and possibly the wrong regulator mechanism - bugger! :wall: It will have to wait until next spring untilI can measure up the regulator spindle - no room in the garage.

Checking my parts manual they changed after 25314, presumably the length of the spindle!

We should have traded. My car has a BJ7 passenger door, and the car is a BJ8. Too late now, it is finished. A few adjustments but everything works.

You are correct, I read it wrong. Apparently my BJ8 was hit in the passenger door which required replacement. I put the BJ8 window regulator into the BJ7 door. Seemed to work. I do have extra regulators? Do you want me to look and see what I have?

Thanks Jerry but I'm ok for now as AH spares sell new ones. They used to be worth their weight in gold as no one made them but I guess the market forces will be at work and the second hand price will come down now.

What is the difference between left and right regulators and how they work? The only difference I see is the direction of the spring when is cranked.
