I think you push the escutcheon back and drive out the little pin.

Push the spring loaded chrome finishing ring around the base of crank in towards the door and you will see a pin thru the crank. Use a small nail or wire to push the pin out and it will come right off.
BTW I'm in Akron, Ia. and the Flatwater Austin healey club out of Lincoln and Omaha is always looking for more members.
