Will this grille surround fit on Frank?

I like the look of the shiny grille surround, and I think it will work on Frank since a 1970 grille fits like a glove.

Here is the one I'm thinking of buying:

Grille Surround on ebay

Anyone deal with the folks at BRITEBRITBITZ?

Rick, I think you should have no problem!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Not a bad price, those things can get expensive.

I spoke with them via email, seeing if they would ship it by slow boat for less but they said when they used to do that the parts would sometimes never arrive. They do everything via airmail now. Even so, it's less than a new one from a US seller.

I'm wondering if their reproduction stuff is as good as (or better than) OE.

Here's a pic:

How does the top piece attach? I think I can figure out the rest, but does the top piece attach to the underside front of the hood (bonnet)? I'm about to pull the trigger on this.
Someone have a picture of how this goes in?

They all get pop riveted into place. Use aluminum rivets. Yup, upper bit goes on the bonnet lip.

Oh - I didn't realize that! Does it have holes predrilled?

Now where did I put that rivet tool? I haven't seen that thing for several years!

I see some of the holes in the pictures, but I can't say for sure.

I just looked up another one & saw the holes.
I'm very good with a drill, so I'm not worried.

They'll fit. I did a little research on this when I modified my '79's front end. The '62-'69 pieces are interchangable with the 70-74 pieces (the 70's models are painted over the chrome) and all will fit in the later model opening. You will need to drill, however.

The top piece fits directly under the hood. It is mounted on the underside, in other words. The bottom long piece fits to the valance. That piece goes in first. The two curved pieces overlap the bottom piece and meet flush at the hood opening.

When I picked up an old set it was just a matter of looking at the opening. It's pretty easy to figure out.
