These just went up today, I've talked to the guy - I can pick them up tonight.

Will they fit my MGC? (pretty hard to tell, I know)

They are 15 x 5 inch.

From the description: Set of 4 wheels and tires (tires hold air, but are pretty worn), Dayton 72 Spoke Radial Lace wire wheels that are true knock off wheels. Includes hubs and caps also. Fits 5 on 4 1/2". Decent condition, some chrome starting to peel.

Do you currently have centre-locks on your MGC or the five-lug steel wheels?

I would be leary of the condition of the splines....which may or may not even fit.....

If you can, I would drive the MGC over and try one "in situ" before I laid any money on the table.

Caveat Emptor.

Yes, I agree that would be best.
However, my MGC is far from being drivable.

So, what's the chance that if I buy these things and they don't fit I couldn't at least get my money back on Ebay?

Well, it's probably not worth the trouble.

It was a nice thought though.

Right now he has 165R 15 tires on them.

Anyone else in the Vancouver WA area want these? He really wants to get rid of them.

Take one of your wheels over to his place and try your wheel on his hub. That would answer the spline question.

You also need to consider offset, etc...

From the photo, it appears his hubs are aftermarket bolt-on hubs, not OE factory hubs....while the wheels will probably fit on your splines, if his are what I think htey are, your rear wheels might not fit exactly right in the wheelwells....what did he say he had them on?

Yep....that's why I think the description sez "fits 5 on 4-1/2"

Another reason to look out for the offset.

Personally, I would get the car on the road....THEN look for new wheels IF that's what you really want! (And...if you have wires....I would consider a change to K&R Minilyte replicas or Superlites......they will make the car handle like a COMPLETELY new animal!)

I told him "no thanks" & wished him luck on getting rid of them.

Thanks, as always, for the sage advice! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Guys, those do not look like splined wire wheels. They look to me like Zenith wires which have a sawtooth bottom inner edge that mate with those adaptors.

Nice strong wheels , but they ain't Dunlops.

They used to fit these to Interceptors in the US.

Yeah, they're splined - with common bolt-on hubs that can be used on anything from a Chevy to a Porsche...thus all the holes around the circumference of the hubs.

Nope - take a close look Tony. Pretty sure they are Zeniths (non-splined).

Here are a few closer, better pictures - I'm glad I asked him to send:
