TR4/4A Will an 8 inch wide radio fit?

Considering whether I can install a new radio from Woody's Custom Shop which is 8 in wide in my 65 TR4A
Current radio installed in the 1980s is a little narrower. From what I can see it looks like 8 in would be a tight fit at best.
Anyone had experience with this?
 
I suppose you could enlarge the hole but you need to also look at the spacing for the radio controls. Are the holes spaced correctly?
