Wife suddenly interested in road rallies

Country flag

So, it seems my wife has a sudden interest in the timed road ralleys. How do I get information on them - where, when, how long, etc? Anything that keeps her enthusiasm up for the healeys gets my vote, so I don't want to ignore this sudden interest!

hehehehe...I see another car in your future!

Yes, yes, yes!!! We need more women involved with lbc's.

Do you think being a 'navigator' will be just the man's position in the lbc???? Just wondering.

Hi Mickey, thanks for the link to SCCA. Looking at it right now.

Hi, Tony - we bought a 66 sprite a couple of months ago, she calls it the "tomato" - it's kind of a reddish orange color. Replaced the wiring harness, redid all the brakes, couple of other small things, and had a problem with it sticking in neutral, which we thought we had fixed, but it reared up again last week. Bought a new (used) transmission from a friend in Delaware, and we're putting that in next weekend. She says that's her new daily driver when it is good to go, so maybe that will be the rally car, not the 100-6.

She's a great driver, grew up in a family that loved the old cars. Don't tell her I said so, but I'm pretty sure she can out drive me right now! She takes the 100-6 out often on trips to town, etc. And woe is me if I forget that it's her turn to drive when we take it out for a day.

Just married her for the first time three months ago!

Hi, Judy - we've already talked about who drives and who navigates. Seems like it will be just like the normal trips in the healey, her turn, my turn, her turn! It's amazing all the things we can't remember, but we both always know who's turn it is to drive the healey! Maybe I should encourage her to join the forum on her own!

You certainly should! We need more of the women's perspective!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

That could get you in trouble... She might become as outspoken as myself.

Seriously it is great to see a woman involved with the lbc's as there are so few of us. Most of the women I know are happy as passengers and not drivers. Fortunately for me hubby is a 6'2" big guy who is very happy to be my passenger. He is however a 'demon' in Onslow A Jaguar where I agree to being a not too happy passenger. I do however give him total control in the airplane and sit there as a very happy passenger. Occasionally I get to change the radio frequency.

Love this sentence!! You gonna marry her several more times & become a polygamist? hehehehehe

Seriously, congratulations - did you tell us about the big moment back when?

She never seems to have any trouble saying what she is thinking, outspoken would be a fair way to put it. The greatest thing about the cars is she seems to love them as much as I do, and drives them every chance she gets. A while back my neighbor called me and said "your Austin Healey is alongside the road about 5 miles from here, and I could see Pam's feet hanging out of the back of it". I called her on her cell, and all she said was "It's fine, just had a fuel pump problem, I fixed it and I'll be home in awhile". That was great, but it did make me wonder why he didn't stop to see what was up. Oh, well. She does pretty good in taking care of herself!

Thanks, Tony - no, I don't think that I did. I mentioned it in a thread about something else, but I don't think I started one just to let everybody know. Should have. And if I could find more of her, I'd certainly marry them, too!! She's a one of a kind!

Have you checked her DNA? I think she is an alien, from outer space.
