SWMBO is up in Denver visiting her sister for a Sorority conference and this morning she went out on the back patio and had a surprise visitor. This is a Gopher Snake (harmless, but my wife hates snakes).

We get these in our property all the time, but we leave them alone since they help keep the rodent population under control.
