Hello,

I anm surprise tu see that no basic conversion kit is available. If you want to upgrade to a 5 sp. you have to buy a kit and the gearbox that comes with it. Imagine the cost of transportation at the beginning from N.Z. or G.B. to america. I know now they are in U.S. But nobody offers a progressive kit where you could find an common used trans. (T5 for example) and you can decide to what extend is your implacation in that modification. I own a MGb and a TR6 that couls be happy to get a 5 sp. A T9 or Supra gearbox will be soon antiquities.

cheers

pick yourself up a garbage-pick toyota five speed out of a truck (plenty of those out there for years to come) and bolt it on. still a good $1500 bucks for the kit without the tranny though. Lots of people rave about the quality of this kit. I have no financial interest and all that....

I'm not familiar with MGB conversions.

I was disappointed in the 5th gear ratio on the Z trans, only .86:1. Most 5 speeds are at least .80:1
