Why do I have to be poor?

Oh dear god that's yummy! What I wouldn't give! Wait, they're taking pounds. That isn't even real money. I'll take two! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Wow - that appears to be the original "Mabel", one of the most famous MG race cars. Mabel was built as an aluminum bodied MGC prototype (they stamped the panels on the regular presses at the end of a shift when the dies were red hot) but since the MGC was not yet in production or homologated it raced its first several outings with a 2 liter MGB 4 cylinder engine and was entered as an MGB. Apparently none of the scrutineers looked under the front end and saw the torsion bar suspension! Add this one to my "if I was Jay Leno" list!

Wow, that is cool. Too bad you have to sign up to see more photos.
