Who's got pictures of Donald Healey...

Unfortunately, this picture was taken about six months before I owned the car. I never got to meet DMH personally.

I've got a T-shirt with a picture of me and Donald Healey on it taken twenty-something years ago, when I was just a kid.

- (See "A Lifetime of Memories" in Writers' Corner.) Wore it once or twice, washed it and then retired it to my "Healey memorabilia" collection.

Best I can do is Jerry Coker (and me) taken at an AH event in Princton, NJ in '01. We had a nice chat about working with "The Donald", Frogeye headlights, his appentice at Rootes, and so forth.

I have individual pictures of Donald, Geoffrey and Brian sitting in my Healey Silverstone. I only took the picture of Brian though. Sure would like to get John.

I can't be only one who thought that the topic title smacked vaguely of blackmail.

Cheers,

Randy,

NICE photo! It was taken at the 3rd Annual "West Coast Meet" (former name of the Healey Rendezvous).

This event, at Bend, Oregon, was the second year of Donald's many trips to the USA to attend various events and visit Healey people. These were organized and sponsored by the Austin-Healey Club USA (then called Austin-Healey Club, Pacific Centre.

Yes, Ray Caivano had just finished the car in his shop, Austin-Healey West. I took delivery the following spring when my tax refund arrived!

Ray passed away perhaps ten years ago but I stay in fairly regular E-mail contact with his wife Jo-Anne. Jo-Anne was the registered owner of the car and I was able to tease her last April that it had been twenty-five years since I bought the car from her.

I too was a member of The Pacific Centre Club and worked at Healey West during its transition from an alley shop (Shipley Street) to Folsom Street. I expect that area is ALL Moscone Center now. In fact, I was in the shop the morning Moscone & White were killed.

my father subsequently bought this car and had it trucked from california to ny... he owned it for several years and, unfortunately, i don't know of it's whereabouts today.

update: somehow the car got back from england to glendale, ca... and then it came to ny.
