I hope no one is afraid of heights. It should be fun though, not having to worry about oncoming traffic(the auto road IS narrow in spots)
I'm a Triumph guy(don't hate me) but you can bet I'll be in Schouler Park to check out your cars!!
Here's hoping for sunshine... Have Fun!

Bummer. I won't actually be getting my Healey until next week. Woodstock, VT isn't too bad a drive from Mt. Washington so it would've been fun. Maybe next year...
For those of you in New England who are planning on going, maybe I'll see you at the British Invasion in Stowe, VT this coming September!

Years ago, I drove up Mt Washington in Mrs Barefoot's '85 Accord.

2 memories stand out:

1. Her cringing at how close to the edge we were much of the time.

2. The smell of burned brakes from many of the cars coming down.

actually, both up, and down are a challenge...
I have hiked up both sides of the mtn, and hiked on the first few miles of the auto road, but hiking is a little different than driving.
now that i'm older(and fatter), i drive up to haul my hiking family from the top. they tell you to use low gear both up and down. 2 out of 3 trips up in our Honda Pilot, the trans temp warning light came on near the top. this past trip up, the light stayed off, but i noticed at the top, the car didnt seem to want to move up the last little(steep) hill to the parking area...
never had a problem with engine temp, but on the way down, i thought i smelled brakes(with 6 of us in the car)
after your trip, your car will probably emit odors you never thought it could...
I remember taking my GT6 up Skyline Drive in Manchester Vt, we smelled 90 weight all the way to the top!

one thing you guys shouldn't have to worry about is oncoming cars refusing to budge from the center of the road for fear of going over the edge(i've seen people whack mirrors)
