Who's going to "The Gathering" on 4/17?

The Triumph Club of the Carolina's "The Gathering" at Dobson, NC will be held April 16-18.

A fellow Shenandoah Valley British Car Club member is heading a caravan from the Charlottesville area.

Wow! 183 miles from the barn here. <span style="font-style: italic">Could be a go</span>. Would be nice to drive a Spit, but if not, I could borrow the wife's Xtera, (yuck!).

Could be good to meet you Mark. Would you be flying anything Triumph?

A little over 300 miles for me, but I still plan on attending. I've been to this show a couple of times over the years and have enjoyed it each time. Always worth the trip. Hope to see a good wedge turn out this year.

If I go I'll be driving a Midget. The show does have a class for MGs, it's not only for Triumphs (note to self: get another Triumph!).

It's a four to five hour drive from here so I'll stay at the Hampton Inn if I go.

I need to make a decision. It's actually my birthday weekend and it would be a nice trip.

I'll have to check with the wee woman, she may have something planned.

I'll let you guys know ASAP.

You're all better men than I. I used to go when they held the event in Winston but I'm too much a wimp now. Dobson is about a 2 hour drive. That would probably be OK in the GT6 but 1 hour of highway driving in the Mini is my limit.

The Shelton Vineyards present a magnificent way area to show the cars and the Winery Tour is not too bad either!! I have attended the past few years....this will be the first with my recently completed 59 TR3. It's an easy 1 hr from here in Huntersville.

I'm sorry to say that I won't be going. It's my birthday weekend and I've been informed that the wee woman has something planned for me (appears to be a surprise birthday party).

FWIW, here's a copy of the route that some of the guys from our local LBC club will take from Waynesboro. A beautiful route down the Shenandoah valley through the old "valley road" and up into the NC mountains.

Guys, please be sure to post photos and tell us all about the show.

Here's the route the guys will take on Friday to meet at "Snappy Lunch" in Mt. Airy near Dobson:

Snappy Lunch
125 N Main St, Mount Airy

1. US 11 South to Troutville

2. I-81 South to US-220 South

3. VA-40 West to Woolwine, VA

4. In Woolwine take US-8 South

5. NC-89 West (Right) to Mount Airy, NC to Snappy Lunch

6. NC-89 veers to the left and becomes South Main Street

7. Snappy Lunch is just after we cross Pine Street

8. Go back the way we came and turn Right onto Rockford Street (NC-601) and follow 601 to Dobson.

9. Exit towards Dobson on East Atkins Street and go into downtown and turn right onto 601 Business

10. Left onto West Kapp Street and this becomes Zephyr Road

11. Left onto Twin Oaks Road and look for the Hampton Inn and Suites
