Who's going to be at the Bellevue Show?

I go to most of the Bellevue All British Field Meets, but this is the first one where I will be in the meet - I will be bringing my restored Bugeye this time. I won't have all the final details done, but the rate I am going I am not sure I will ever be totally done anyway. Who's going? Anyone that shows their car here have any tips for me?
Kevin

Bring a chair and water~ I am planning on going with my red Mark IV. Hopefully Bill L will make it since he isn't going to be driving cross country.

I'll be there. Look for the car in my profile photo on the left. What colour is your B/E?

I should be able to make that one.. It's not too long a drive. .. The car IS ready for a much longer trip, but this could be just the thing...Thanx for the reminder....

and I second that.. a CHAIR and WATER, maybe some spray on-wipe off detailer and a clothes.

Kevin, how did your generator problem ever resolve. I don't think I saw where you told us. Your feedback is important.

Alas I live in New York City. I won't be at the Bellevue show. Wish I could be.

Thanks for the reminder on the chairs and water. It seems like it is always super hot the day of the show. With our crazy weather, the only thing that can stop me this year is rain - don't have the top on yet and won't be able to put it on before the show. By the way, what time realistically do you need to be there on Saturday? One of the things I enjoyed the last time (even though I couldn't stay long) was meeting a few of you - got to meet two Bills in one show. I will be putting a "thank you" to British Car Forum members on my windshield, so hopefully that will allow me to meet more of you. TOC, my Bugeye is Iris Blue. Even though I am showing my car for the first time, I plan on walking around to see everything. If you don't come to visit me, I will drop by to see you. I wish more of you were on the West Coast so I could meet more of you. Charlie, it was the generator after all. For now I just bought a new one from Moss - Car charges and starts right up now. I have a spare I would like to rebuild one day - still have the articles you sent me to do it. Sure learned a lot through that experience. I didn't touch the voltage regulator since I am a strong believer in "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

What kind of show is this? concours level, club level, drivers? I want to bring my car but it is definately no beauty queen.

Neither is mine. It's just a gathering, hundereds and hundreds, borken into marques. I think there are awards, but I never get one. Fun to walk around and see the London Taxicabs, the Brit APC's, old cars and new cars.
Come on out!

Yep, a wide range of cars "diamonds in the rough" to concours. I never get tired of looking at all of them. I forgot how many hundreds of cars are there, but in addition, there are parts for sale too. For once I will be there long enough to enjoy myself without being rushed since I will be there all day.

Got a good story about parts at the ABFM.
There's this guy, sells shop manuals, repair manuals, owner's manulas, all that stuff.
I'm going through his stuff, and I find, brand freaking new, in a clear plastic sleeve, this 2.4L MK2 Jaguar Owner's Manual. I have the Shop Manual and the Parts Manual, no owner's manual.
So, I take it to the guy, tell him I want to buy it.
He looks at it, looks at me, and says "You really don't want this manual".
"Why not?"
"I've sold it several times, it always is returned, as it's for a 2.4L Jaguar, not a 3.4 or 3.8"
I point up the hill.
"See that bronze MK2?"
"Yeah"
"THAT'S a 2.4L, and since you cannot sell it to anyone else, you're going to give me a discount to get it off your hands, right?"

And he did.

Inside was the original wall chart for chassis lubrication, felt like it had never been unfolded.
So, now I have one!

Mine is far from being a "show car". It's a driver. I started going to the Bellevue show seven or eight years ago. There were three BE's and my SWA '66 in the Sprite section. Last year Square Bodies outnumbered the BE's.

The hardest thing for me to do was to go to the shows and have to say--"I have one of those, but I didn't bring it." Drive your car, talk to the people, make friends, look at all the other British Iron and have a good time.

Just bring your car and enjoy yourself! My Sprite is far from perfect but it suits me just fine. You will meet lots of good people, see some beautiful and not so beautiful cars and maybe even get a good find line TOC did at the swap meet. This is the first year that they have split the BE and Box Sprites in the category, so all of those Box Sprites that showed up last year must have finally made an impression.

Jean, yours is as fine an example as I've ever seen. .. If you think it's far from perfect, I'll have to go over it again to see what I can find. ...

I guess it depends upon ones definition of perfection. Concours correct, or being put together to ones vision of what a Spridget should be. ..

Jean, I second what Bill said.
Your car is lovely.

Alas I won't be there this time around.
Currently @ Elkhart Lake!

Thanks Rick, she sure makes me happy and that is what counts. It sounds like you, Bill M and Mike B are having a great time, y'all be missed at the ABFM this year.

Looks like there is going to be at least a trio of red Box Sprites in a row, with Spriteman65, Bill L and me.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. Loved that I could register online this year, makes it a lot easier.

Well, won't be bringing my car. Never was able to figure out why I had bad oil pressure. I finally took it in to get it checked out by someone I trust. My worst fears were realized - he thinks the oil pump is bad. Due to other issues, I don't even know if I will make it at all- I'm bummed.
