I got my TR6 that way….really! The lady I bought it from went through a messy divorce. She left “his car” outside with the top down for three years to “fix him” as she told me.
After a six year restoration it’s better than when it left the UK.

HA! My Elan was as result of similar too. Traded in at a Chevy dealer on a Chevette for her post-divorce transport. Dealership had no idea what they had. My pal got his Caterham 7 from a gent who bought it at an auction on a whim, his wife couldn't fit in the passenger side and she declared it was her or the car.

Beware a woman scorned! :sneaky:

Someone posted this somewhere - "My greatest fear is that, when I die, my wife will sell my guitars for what I told her they cost."
