Who is the Triumph alignment wiz in MA?

A while back, someone posted information about a great shop off RT 495 that did great 4 wheel alignments on TR-6's. The owner actually welcomes customers into his shop to watch him do the job and is a real enthusiast.

My buddy John from the CCBCC and I were talking Sunday at the show and I thought I had the info, but I've misplaced it. Can anyone help me out on this?

Thanks in advance,

I don''t kknow your answer, but I was talking to an alignment shop once and the owner was telling me that the best way to do an alignment is after all the work is complete on the suspension, the tires and wheels you are going to use installed and with the driver sitting in the car. He takes several hours -- which meanns you do also.

I understand the necessary preliminaries and will be doing exactly that, but for the life of me, I can't remember who or where the shop is at that was so highly recommended.

It's tough getting old....

It was probably me that recommended the alignment shop.

Smiths Alignment Service
1092A Mass. Ave (Rt 111)
Boxborough MA 01719
Ph: 978-635-0549

Its off Rt 495 on Rt 111 going east (don't know the exit #) a couple miles on the right.

Bob Smith did the balance and alignment on the TR250 last fall. He did a very nice job, spent quite a bit of time getting it right. Tracks perfectly now. When balancing the wheels, he placed the weights (stick-on) on the inboard side of the wheel, so they were not visable. Bring some shims with you in case.

That's it!!

Thanks Rob. I'll put it in my address book and bookmark this as well.

Coincidentally, my wife was just helped out by Bob the other day when she blew a tire near their place. Her comment was, "Wow, that was the nicest guy I've ever encountered."

Bob aligned my 4A front end recently after the rebuild. Really sweet results, and probably closer to spec then when it left the factory

He's a great guy, and doesn't mind if you stay in the shop awhile and ask quetions..even bought me a coffee when he sent someone out to Dunkin Donuts.

Don't forget you workshop manual ...or a copy of the alignment specs you want him to use, and you will need to bring some shims.

Cheers
