whining clutch

Hey Folks.
Elvis's clutch makes a sound sorta between a whine and a squeel only when moving the car from a standing start. the throw out bearing seems to be ok, its a carbon style. it makes no noise when you engage or disengage the clutch. This leads me to feel that it is fine. When up or down shifting there is no noise. only on initial movement. it doesnt sound like metal to metal., could be i suppose... The cluth , pressure plate and t/o are all new, no more thatn 3 K on them. They are Borg and Beck pieces. and the flywheel was dressed off

This has been happening since Elvis slipped the clutch getting it home one day while having some fuel delivery issues.

Any ideas??

hadnt thought of that...the bush is also new. it only makes noise when the clutch is being engaged, not when fully engaged or when fully disengaged.

one more thing of note, the clutch feels good, the engagement point on the pedal is low in the travel and there is no slippage.
This has me a little stumped.

Spritenut,
could it really be the pilot bushing? I guess the noise could be some high pitched chatter. caused by the clutch plate wanting to walk off center as it is being engaged. this sound logical?

Update,
Pulled the engine yesterday and took a look at the clutch. The only thing that i could see is it looked like the pilot bushing had been spinning in the end of the crank. other than that all looked ok. Good call Spritenut.

Good call SpriteNut...Makes sense....Anytime the clutch is pedal is depressed the input shaft is supported in 3 places
1) Spigot bush 2) 1st motion shaft bearing & 3) Roller bearings on main shaft. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Only #1 stops moving relative to the other when clutch is released.
