Whilst visiting with my cardiologist...ramblings

Went in for my post-heart attack checkup (all's good), the nice young fella that did my BP and EKG for the doc looked awfully familiar, kinda deja vu. We got to talking and sure as heck he is the son of my buddy from college, spittin image. He will be starting med school in the fall. The resemblance was uncanny. Lost touch with his dad 38 years ago. His dad was a helluva water skier in his day, one of the first, if not the first, to perfect barefoot water skiing. His dad was in law school when I was in dental school. He drove a 305 Honda motorcycle that I was forever borrowing.

Now for the rest of the story. I managed to get a date with one Patty Rubiano, a RICH Columbian girl whose RICH daddy owned a coffee plantation in Columbia, S.A. Patty was gorgeous, a real queen. I convinced her to ride on back of my buddy's Honda whereupon we went to the French Quarter to get liquored up. It had been raining. When I drove Miss Rubiano back to my place to make my move, I parked the bike right next to a mud pit, and watched helplessly as the kick stand gave way and we rolled over into 6" of muck. My date was infuriated, stomped off to the dorms, coated in mud. I never saw her again, except as the Cover Girl of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition of 1972. I could'a been a contender.....

I could'a been RICH. Making lots of Columbian/Syrian babies.
Patty was again in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition 20 years later, showing what had become of some of their models over the years. Daaannnnggg, she still looked good.

My bad. It was 1971 that she appeared on the cover. And they used her middle name, Tannia. Sigh.....

I dunno.....someone who can't laugh at falling in the mud sounds a little uptight to me! Those are the kinds of things you share with your grandkids, the stuff of memories....maybe you're better off.... Ok, maybe not! LoL
