Which Tools sizes

Oops, sorry Harry, didn't notice you were in the Netherlands, probably not a Sears store down the street.

And what's worse is that they won't ship overseas. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

I have to get my daughter to smuggle them in....

You might try RS Supplies or the Imperial Tool Company which is a specialist in just these types of tools. Both are in the UK but they supply by mail order.

I've used Metrinch tools some and they seem to be a reasonable quality. They're designed to fit both Imperial (inch) and metric bolts and might be suitable if you have to regualrly deal with both.

Hello,

Is this a reasonable set ? with decent tools. I have read they don t ship overseas but if I can have it sent to a US address it can be taken care of that will receive them.

If you are starting with basically nothing I would get something more like this one.

Craftsman 96 pc. Field Technicians Tool Set
Sears item# 00941206000 Mfr. model# 41206

It has fewer sockets, but also has screwdrivers and a variety of pliers, a hammer, a voltage tester, etc.

You may be able to find similar closer to home that will save you on shipping, tool kits are heavy, also used tools if you can find them can be a good way to go as well, but I don't know where you would acquire them over there.

Hi Harry, Yes that is a very good set to start with. However, with all the security bits about now. I would check thoroughly that they could be mailed from a private party source. What you could end up with is some customs inspector with a free set of tools.---Keoke--??

Check with your local Customs office. Imported goods are usually liable for VAT and import duties sometimes.

I did a quick google and the VAT rate in the Netherlands is 19% so you could end up paying that, plus customs clearence fees plus import duties if they're taxable. You could end up paying a lot more for the tools... ouch! At least the dollar's weak....
