Hi all
I would like to replace the original oil filter on my BT7 with a spin-off adapter. Here in the UK there are two different types supplied by AHspares (https://www.ahspares.co.uk/austin-h...inder-ENG685-ONWARDS/KIT-spin-off-filter.aspx or https://www.ahspares.co.uk/austin-h...G685-ONWARDS/ADAPTOR-KIT-spin-off-filter.aspx) and and one by Ahead4Healey (https://www.ahead4healeys.co.uk/OIL-FILTER-KIT---SPIN-OFF--DIRECT-TO-BLOCK--id2167.aspx) are slightly different. Does anyone have any experience of these three different types?
Phil

FWIW, Moss Motors here in the colonies sells a different type; it's smaller in diameter and fits a longer filter (it barely fits between the block and the servo in my BJ8). Looks like the Brit ones are larger in diameter but fit a shorter filter; probably better for tight fits.

I have also bought an AH adapter recently but not fitted it yet. Anything to consider in unscrewing the bolts holding the original onto he block? They seem mighty tight.
Thanks
Steve

be very sure the adapter is mounted properly. It can go on two ways but only one is correct. The wrong way causes the oil feed port to be blocked or partially blocked. You can use the gasket to help determine the correct orientation.
