I've been racing Spridgets here in the States with an original Salisbury LSD clutch type since 1978. Most of my fellow competitors are all oriented towards the clutch pack types. Detroit lockers aren't very popular in Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) type racing, primarily due to the use of very sticky slick tires. The Detroit locker does have a following in Vintage type racing where the tires are much skinnier and the grip is subsequently a lot less. The Quaiffes/Thorses have a following too. But, all in all, I would say most of the Spridget racers are oriented towards the clutch types. The original Salisbury, the TranX or a modified Mini Salisbury. We have put new bearing carrier "ears" into the Mini Salisburys to convert them to the Spridget rear diffs before. Not a complicated process, but one that requires a good cleaning of the outer halves and good weld to hold new bearing mount in place.
