Hi guys, I just received an electric fuel pump from Victoria British model#3-207 and it dosen't look any thing like the one I took off .My 65 AH 3000 is no.28972.Can anyone tell me if this is the right pump? Thanks for your help, Bobby R

The original type pump for your car should look like the VB pic AUF301 at the top of the VB catalog page 61. It is listed on page 60 as the 3-207, center pic.

If your old pump is different, it may have been changed. The Moss catalog shows the change to this type of pump at c#28225. IMO, it's a much better pump than the older style.

Hi Bobby ,Take a look at the small aluminum tag on the fuel pump,it should be the AZX 1300 series and include the ground polarity of your car. usually the exact 1300 number will include a P at the end of the number to identify positive ground. However, current pumps "SU" by Burlen are no longer polarity sensitive and it may just say "AZX 1307.--Fwiw--Keoke

Hi Dave, Thanks for the tip. The 3-207 is the one they sent me with a bracket to for mounting. The pump looks exactly like the picture of pump #3-206 on page 60.When I saw the 207 does not have the pressure regulator ,I was pretty concerned. The box it came in did have the manufacturer's seal unbroken.I just don't want to make any mistakes. I'm getting real close to driving this beast for the first time.It is a awsome car.Thank you for the help. BobbyR

Hi Keoke, I'm going to install this 207 pump V.B. sent me.After that, I have to replace the carb floats and the needles and seats.I really think this forum is great.Every time I need advice and a little push ,you guys come through. Thanks again. Bobby R

I have (I believe) an original SU punmp on my BJ8 phase 1. The polarity was changed to neg ground. It works fine. Should it have been changed to a neg pump?
TH

Unless you have a quite late model pump, last couple of years, it has a polarity sensitive contact arc suppression diode under the plastic end cap. It is a small black plastic cylinder with red & black wires on one end. If the pump is connected reverse polarity, this diode will be ruined. The only way you would know is that the pump's electrical contact life would be shortened a lot.

Replacement diodes are available from Moss for either positive ground, #377-135, or negative ground #377-145. You may need to get a new negative ground diode.

hI TH, I would suspect whom ever converted the car to Neg Gnd also took care of the fuel pump if it were an issue, If as you say it works fine.--Fwiw--Keoke

Well OK Bobby, it will work. However, if they still have Neg/Pos Gnd NCB 133/AZX 1300 group fuel pumps for the BJ8 that stock must be ancient.---Keoke
