Which carpet material to use?

I had a conversation with Larry Learn several years ago about wool carpets. Larry has done A LOT of upholstery work for TRF in the past.
He told me he leaves a little extra material at the edges on wool carpet to allow for shrinkage.
 
Unfortunately, no TR7/8 on the weekend special, but almost everything else in the catalog is 25% off list price right now.
