Where's Harold

Agreed.

Last I heard he was wrestling with a rust spot and tie rods. I hope he got done and is riding around happily...

Hi Chaps,

The weather (rain) has been curtailing activities recently. I did get out and replace the Choke cable on Harold last weekend, and also did some more fiddling around with the paintwork and bondo repairs. I've gone over all the bodywork with a fine cut polish, and it now doesn't look half as bad as it did. In addition, I removed and replaced the interior rear side panels, which were in very shoddy condition. This involved remounting the loudspeakers in the new panels.

As soon as it dries up, I need to re-bleed the brakes, and fit the new 185/70R14-shod wheels, so that I can zoom around the block again a bit.

I've ordered a new carpet kit for the interior. I've also ordered a go-faster blue decal stripe. I saw a photo somewhere of a white GT with such a stripe, and it looked very good. It may also distract attention away from the crumpled hood

I really need to buy a replacement hood!

Welcome back bud.

Good to know you're still at it, Julian.

Something to ponder: Consider two sets of stripes! You may find it difficult to remove the rest without lifting paint if/when you replace the bonnet. Then you'll need a match to them. Or just forget the stripes.

Not being negative here, I kinda like the stripe idea. Just "thinking ahead".

This is the look that appealed to me (can't remember where I found this photo):

The turn signals are on backwards.

I didn't notice that ... the covers on Harold's are all amber, unlike the ones in that photo.

Hey Steve: made a decision on that hood yet?!

I have driving lamps, was wondering where they'd go.
Just take off the over-riders, go figure?
Thanks Julian!

Julian, I'm just waiting on a decision from someone else on a related subject before I can give up my hood. But you will be the first I call once the decision is made either way. Hopefully it will be very soon.

This car looks familiar for some reason. Wish we could see a side shot. It looks like a car I saw in a Mexican road race and I think a right hand drive.
I like the stripes Julian. Looks great on a white car. PJ

I like that as well, very purposeful.

Is it going to just be two big stripes or are you going to have the smaller ones running parallel as well?

The ones I have bought are dual 7" stripes, which I intend to cut to dual 3.5" stripes. I bought them very cheap on Ebay, so it's not going to be an expensive experiment. Also, of course, if I dislike the look, they peel right off
