I still remember it as if it were yesterday. I was 13 and in an airport on St. Croix. Devestated me as a teen.

I was in Albuquerque New Mexico working on my BSEE studying for an upcoming test in my electro-magnetic fields and waves class. I am a life-long fan of the Beatles' music, but that's as far as it goes for me.

I was home (same house I'm in today) when I heard the news.

I was working in a furniture factory in southern Wisconsin, rubbing English Oak stain into an office chair frame. We had the radio on.

The whole room came to a halt and we stood in complete disbelief.

Soon after, I began wearing "Lennon-style" round lens glasses. Tho' my eyes have changed a bit (!), I still have those frames upstairs somewhere.

We were building a casino in Atlantic city, NJ. The whole job shut down for the rest of the day. It was a horrible time.

Connecticut Ave on the way to a job in DC. Stopped off at a 7-11 and heard it there.

I was in 2nd grade at the time -- I do remember (vaguely) coming home and watching about it on the TV. Sad stuff.

Just leaving Sewickley for Florida. We sent a card of sympathy to Yoko. Just signed our first names.

Always wondered if she ever looked thru the piles of those things.

Stationed at SHAPE in Belgium.. It was kind of a shock, but not near the way The Kennedy assassinations, or the attempt on Reagan' was.

Agreed. It was a nonsensical event. Who could be so deranged as to consider that as something worth the consequence.

"They walk among us."

The human world is a strange and amazing place.

Lennon was very connected, didn't rest on his laurels. Amazing artist.

One of our worst fears, to be struck down by a raving lunatic. Like Doc said, it's a crazy place, this world. :yesnod:

I loved his early (Beatles) music (I even have a John Lennon Signature Rickenbacker). However, I will keep to myself what I thought of him outside of his musical talent.

"You may say I'm a dreamer; but I'm not the only one..."

I wrote a sermon several years ago based on that line. One of my better attempts, if I do say so.

My favorite.
Read my signature line.
