Changed the rear gear oil yesterday and it had only about 28 oz in it! Today(or this week) I would like to change the gearbox oil. Car is a '67 GT with a '68 trans. Where do I access the fill on this? Drain plug is obviuous right under the trans.

Hmmm, with a 68 gearbox in a 67, where you could access it and where you're actually gonna need to fill it are two different places. The 68 gearbox might have a dipstick on the pssenger side of the case. But the 67 tunnel probably won't have an access hole to pull it out unless the PO cut one.

There will be a fill plug halfway up the case on the passenger side; see photo. Use a squeeze bottle with some tygon hose to refill it. NOTE, the photo is of the later full synchro gearrbox which does not have a dipstick.

Always remove the fill plug before the drain plug.

A very large "Amen" to that statement! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Inexpensive pumps are available to use for this. Most will fit an oil bottle, or at least an empty, (and clean) gear lube bottle.

The 68 four-syncro dipstick is in ths same place as the 67 three-syncro dipstick. (behind the radio console on the right side) You need small hands or right-angle needle nose pliers to remove the dipstick.

Did just that with the rear end. While my tank is out I figure I'd sevice that as it would be easier to fill. I have to crawl inside to find out where that dipstick it.
