MGA Where is my Twin-Cam?

Just dug up the original bill of sale for my 59 MGA Twin Cam bought new for $3,400.00 less trade-in of a 1957 Porsche coupe for $2,500.00. It was traded for a 59 VW sunroof after 6 months because I was commuting to the RR station having just started law school in NYC. My question is - does this car still exist? It was white with black interior, serial no.16GU/256, motor no. YD-3/645. Any information would be appreciated.
 
Don't have any great info for you, though I think that there is a Twin Cam register somewhere.

Quite the vehicular history you've got there!
 
It may be in Australia. The Yahoo Twin Cam group had a thread in August 2010 discussing what might be YD3-645. I will send you the thread via PM.

i am sure the current owner would love to hear about its history.

I shoulda kept all the cars I had through the years. Even the crappy Renault 4CV is probably worth a couple of grand today to say nothing of the 3 TDs, the Twin Cam, '57 Porsche, '63 Mercedes, '34 Ford convertible, '40 Ford sedan, '79 280ZX, '56 TR3, 2 Beetles, etc. Sigh.
 
When we were kids, very few of us gave any thought of keeping our cars in a barn somewhere when done with them. We didn't have the money to do that and we traded cars more than keep them. My interest started out after school, in racing with my dad. I had my own open wheel sprint car, which after I got married, to keep peace because the wife didn't want the boys to get into it, I sold it with no engine, I still have that engine, Ford V8-60. I've junked cars back then when they were worth 100 bucks or less and now those same cars are worth a ton of money. You can't keep everything without a place to park them under cover and the money was needed at the time. I don't regret any of it! PJ

Found pictures of my Twin Cam from 1959 at an autocross and side by side with my brother's regular MGA. Scanned them into my computer and sent them to the current owner in Australia. I tried to post them here without success.

My pride and joy was a signal red , 59 TR3A. That I was in the process of restoring ( my folks would argue that point) when I left for college in 74. It mysteriously disappeared from their garage before I returned for it in 78.

i also wish I would have held onto that 100 shares of Apple stock I bought in 81......
