Where did I put it?

Fifteen years ago I put a TR250 engine in my '73 TR6 and currently in the process of rebuilding the TR6 iron so it was time to get all the old stuff together. The original engine was put under the work bench, the carbs and manifold stores somewhere else. Ah, somewhere else was an under statement.

Now I knew the carbs and manifold were still attached. I looked, and looked, and looked. I mean everywhere, in the shop, in the two storage sheds, everywhere. Two hours and no manifold or carbs.

Well, I then got side tracked and started looking for the other brake caliper, the partner to the one I found when looking for the carbs and manifold.

Well, in a box I found the carbs but no manifold. The were not together after all. Then I remembered I put the manifold behind the engine under the work bench and there it was.

A happy man, but now I cannot remember where I put the brake caliper I just found...

Oh, well, I have all day today to find it.

What a relief! I was beginnin' to feel as if I was the only one... :jester:

Same as me......sometimers disease.

The medical term for that disease is: <span style="font-weight: bold">CRS</span>.... <span style="font-weight: bold">C</span>an't <span style="font-weight: bold">R</span>emember <span style="font-weight: bold">S</span>h%t

Hehehehe! I gotta pick on you guys while I can! cause I'm gonna be there soon enough.. Now where did I put Those parts?.. Crud!
P.S. Hey Elliot, you come up to Harris Hill often? I'm about 5 miles away.

Glad to know that I'm not alone in suffering CRS. :thankyousign:

I could lay a tool down and go back after it 5 minutes later and forget where I put it. :wall:

Look in the freezer, behind the icecream. You'll find your keys and wallet there too!! LOL

I just rely on the next best thing, Call Information

Hey Banjo. I've only been to Harris Hill once. It was in the middle of the winter and I was still working so I stopped on the way back home. The soaring museum is awesome. It would also be very cool to get towed off of Harris Hill..... launched off the top of the mountain and in a few seconds being over the valley....one day!

I took a glider ride once. It was awesome. And, yes, you're instantly hundreds of feet above the vally. It's really cool. I see gliders all the time in the summer. I always wish I was up there with them.
Harris Hill has a great picnic area, and it's fun to watch the gliders being towed up, and coming in to land.

Here is an update. I did find the second brake caliper, but for the life of me, I cannot find the first one I put somewhere where it would be safe.

So I took out my frustration and spent an hour or so removing the pistons from the one I found.

Now where is the 1099 from my bank? I would hate to file my income tax return and not include the $25 the bank paid in interest on my checking account. (and yes, my bank is still in business)

There's one sure way to fine anything you've misplaced, buy another one. And it works even better when you buy something "no returns".....

I finally found it right where I put it. On the floor, behind a box, under a drop cloth.

Typical.

...and VERY safe! Especially from yerself. :jester:

I think this is called ADD modified Alziemers.... i have it too..

Isn't it nice to know that your not alone, that you have friends out here and are not saying "What's Wrong With This Guy", because we all, well most, have the same problem. It's a great feeling to know that other folks loose, (Oops), misplace, things also. I'm still looking for that screw driver I laid on the bench, about a week ago. Somebody must have taken it!

I love it when I find something and wonder what it is and where came from. Never saw that before in my life.

A week later you remember.

At least you remembered that you lost something.......that's not a bad thing......
