Where can I find info on MG Midget engine numbers

I have a Midget engine with a number of FP7793UE, I think.
Was wondering what this really tells me. 1500? or ?

FP******UE is the correct engine number for an US imported Midget 1500, G-AN6-U series.

Thanks but I now have another question. This site indicates that this AN6 would be a AH Sprite.

Is there an on line source for decoding such numbers?

GAN6 is an MG Midget....Austin Healey was out of production by the time the 1500 was introduced.

HAN6 is a Sprite
GAN6 is a Midget
FP is the letters on Triumph Spitfire engines (same as a 1500 Midget)

Was there an HAN6 Sprite? I thought the last one was HAN5.

Last distinct AH Sprite mentioned by Horler is HAN10 in Dec '70 with the Austin badged Sprite (AAN10) continuing through Jul '71.
