Where buy bullet connectors locally [ie pick up]?

I have never seen a local store carry the size/type used on British cars. There are bullet connectors used which are similar to the "regular" spade-type crimp connectors but their bullets are smaller in diameter.

If you need bullets in bulk, quickly, and at a reasonable cost, contact the folks at Britishwiring.com I have always had good service and fast delivery from them.

There is a version I have seen but it is not quite the same as the British style (any hardware store or electronics right there with the spade connectors, etc).

Your best bet is if you have a Moss suppier in your area who may carry a stock of them. They may be one-size-fits all which means you'll have to drill out the hole for the larger gauges (brass, easy to drill).

I am so fortunate that although Tucson is a small town in many ways, we have a Moss store that almost always has what I need on the shelf.

What is a Moss store?

Right. In a pinch, I have been able to carefully spread the bullet apart (it's rolled from sheet) and get a good connection inside a British sleeve; but it's still better to buy the proper British bullet.

There might be some British shops that would have them, Tom, but not an ordinary auto parts or electronics store. Of course, our local Moss store is only a couple of hours away. It's usually a nice drive in a LBC, but I wouldn't suggest it this week

If you're really desperate, I've got a few ...

Thanks guys. I don't trust the other drivers on the road right now Randall - seen too many cars spinning on straight road. Crazy. Thanks for the offer however!

I'll order some up from British Wiring. For the most common single wires - oh, say for brake lights - am I looking for 9, 14 or 28 or 44 strand sizing?

Edit - I am assuming the same strand wire would also be used if I get factory correct matching replacement wire from them. I'm getting tired of using black replacement segments. Functional, but...well, you know.

Does seem like rain brings out all the crazies around here!

But I suppose that includes me too, sometimes I just can't resist letting the old wagon fishtail a bit.

What I do is buy the small crimp type bullets, and drill them out as needed. Since I don't have a crimp tool, I just solder them to the wires. But brake lights are typically 14 strand, I believe.

An authorized Moss distributor, in our case a repair shop that also has a sales desk and a well-supplied stock room with all the usual bits one needs and very often the unusual too. Owned by a couple, he repairs, she sells parts -- they seem to have an uncanny sense of what part I might need next.

Very comforting to phone... greasy to the elbows... with a need for something I've just broken or discovered must be replaced... and hear her say 'we've got you covered'.

So, how do one find a Moss reseller?

Randall
Not sure if he is still there. He and his son were out in a customers car and rolled it. The son was thrown clear, Tim spent a great deal of time in the hospital. The customer had only had the car for a week and fortunately Hagerty insured it.......it was totaled.

I ordered some single and double sleeve connectors on Friday and they were in the mail on Monday from British wire, I am going to replace all those connectors when I put the main harness in in a few weeks, I should have got some bullets too but I didnt
