When you say LBC...

Not only do I have my real sized Triumph Spitfire, (and hopefully a TR4 someday) but I also have plastic model kits of several. Already I have the Airfix TR4a, a TR3a, a TR7,and a GT6 by Lindberg from years ago. Question is, do any of you know of a scale model kit of any Spitfire (stock or Le Mans or rally), TR6, or TR2? I'm toying with the idea of building some for members of my club, and want to replicate their cars. Problem is, I don't have enough kits of some models, and noneo of others. Thanks.

Gunze Sanyo made a mixed media model of a TR2 some time ago.....IIRC.....

Gunze Sangyo actually made a pair of TR2 kits.

One was for a stock version and had the usual plastic frame & body. Nice kit.

The other was a TR2 Le Mans kit that has a number of solid metal parts and a frame you make up from sheet metal -- really a remarkable bit of kit design. Alternately it also includes parts to build it out as the Jabbeke car.

Someday maybe I'll get around to building those... for now the 1:1 scale TRs keep me busy.

BTW -- I do eventually build them out -- my avatar shows my 'real' TR3A and a 1/24 slot car version of same with 'Mini Geo' at the wheel.

Glad to see there are others collecting those little boxes... Here are a few of mine...

TRF once stocked (probably more than ten years ago) a pewter TR6 model kit, made in the UK. It was nice but pricey. I can't remember the scale but it wasn't too much bigger than a matchbox car.

If you go to ebay in the UK you will find more models as well.

Ebay has LBC kits from time to time. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that builds scale models. I spend most of my tine on the 1:1 TR but build other stuff just to take a break. My oldest son is an avid builder of armor, 1:35 stuff and he got me into armor also. Prior to that I was into WWII, pacific theater aircraft and plank on hull warships.
Above all though, the TR is first in my heart and pocket book, heh.

Cheers, Tinkerman
