Yesterday I picked up my M1 iMac from the Apple Store after they had it overnight to fix an issue I was having with sound quality,
They said it was a software issue and that they needed to do a complete reinstall the operating system and all of the underlying firmware drivers.

I approved this procedure because I have full back ups of everything on my system that I can restore from my time capsule hard drive.

Yesterday I began the migration procedure to restore all of my data and programs. About 2:30 AM this morning we had a power outage and my migration process failed. Now I am having to start from scratch to do the data migration. Keeping fingers crossed we have no more power outages.
Grrrrrrrrr…..

I can relate to that type of situation Basil. When I changed my hard drive to a 1TB SSD, I cloned the mechanical drive to the SSD before changing the drives to make sure everything went well. Being it's an all-day process so after starting it in the evening, I went to bed and let it do its thing, sometime in the wee hours of the night the same thing happened to me as we lost power for a few seconds ruining the cloning process. I had to re-format the new SSD and start the whole process all over again! Don't you just love modern technology! :rolleyes2:
