wheels for Bugeye

I'm working on my 59 Bugeye and I'm looking for wheels. Since the car is not going to be original, I'd like something flashy. I've seen Mini-Lites but are there other choices? Do they have the same bolt pattern as a Midget? Are there any other aftermarket wheel choices?

The Sprite has the same 4 on 4" bolt pattern as the Midget.
There are many wheel options out there. Panasports, Minilites, Minataur, even some of the Chevy Vega and Monza wheels, or the rostyle wheels from a Midget.

All Sprites and Midgets used a 4" on center 4 lug patteren. Same as GM 4 lug. Many wheels from Honda, BMW, and VW are 100mm 4 lug and are very close.
I know BMW and VW rims fit a Bugeye.
For kicks, I stuck my son's 17" VW rims on my bugeye. It looked sick but they fit.
Do watch the front wheel drive cars wheels due to their offset. Many companys make unilug patteren rims with an oval hole.
Revolution makes some nice wheels which you can find by checking out some Mini suppliers.

Thanks for all the info it really helps. Most of all I don't want the hassle of ordering some expensive wheel and returning it. In other words I would like to get it right the first time. I measured 4" centers also. What does that relate to in mm? How far can you go on the offset? If any one has some wheels on their Bugeye that they think look great and are still available could they share the info and maybe a pic. Sure would save a lot of looking. Thanks.

Well, since 1 inch = 25.4mm, 4" centers would equal 101.6 mm. That would seem to indicate, as bugeye58 said, that the 100mm wheels would fit fine. As to offset, I'm still debating that myself with my Midget ... afraid I can't help you there

Whoa, Matt. I never said 4 x 100mm wheels would fit. I had a set of Enkei wheels given to me that were 4 x100. and they woudn't fit. I gave them to someone else that could use them.
I have to pull the wheels on the race car, and I'll measure the backspacing and post it.
