TR6 Wheels and tires

Just purchased some VTO Classic 8, 15 x 6 by 114.3 x 4 rims for our 1973 TR6. When trying to bolt the rims to the hub, the studs are too short. Looks like another half inch might do it? Any recommendations on how to proceed?

I'd talk to the folks who sold you the wheels as fitting a TR6. In some cases, aftermarket wheels require special nuts that go into the web of the wheel to grab the original stud.

You will probably have to replace the studs with longer ones as I did when fitting a set of Minilites on my TR4.

If you are trying to use your original lug nuts, STOP. You need to get fasteners made for these wheels. Contact VTO.
