wheel loose

Hey guys,
Haven't been on here in a while.
I've recently felt kind of a vibration in the Spit and couldn't really figure out where it was coming from. The other day I noticed that if you grab the front wheels and pull back and forth you feel that they are loose. Yes, the lug nuts are tight. However, I can't figure out how far back something is loose. Is this a sign my wheel bearings are bad or what?

My guess would be wheel bearings or the bearing race spun on the spindle and you have a groove on the spindle and as a resuld slop, My college roomate had a skylark with the same problem and after pulling the wheel off and brake rotor I noticed a nice groove in the spindle and new wheel bearings didnt help

If you recently installed new front wheel bearings, it's possible they were not seated all the way back and after you drove (say 1000 miles), the outer race moved back to the seat where it should have been and all you have to do is tighten the nut on the outside to put the tapered rollers back into place.

If this is not the case, you will have to pull it all apart and find what the problem is - probably as described above.

It's probably the wheel bearings, and they're probably set to the so called correct specs as per the manual. It's a crazy loose spec that I wouldn't run.
