Wheel Bearing

I am changing my driver side wheel bearing for the third time in a year...once myself, twice "professionally" done...any idea what could be causing the premature wear?

Car is a '70 TR6, 17" wheels...timken wheel bearings. Drive almost exclusively on the highway (daily driver) at about 65 mph. Changed both the inner and outer bearings, along with races.

Yeah more info please.

Driving style?

Tire Size?

Etc.

Could be a clue right there. Different offset or sticky tires can place extra loads on the wheel bearings.

What were the symptoms of the bad bearings ? What did they look like ?

I drove my TR3A pretty hard for a lot of miles (with wide sticky tires and positive offset wheels) ... one of the front spindles actually distorted until the bearing race was no longer a snug fit on it. FWIW, replacing the spindle solved that problem. I've also seen hubs that are worn (or more likely waddled out from improper installation) until the races are no longer a snug fit.
