Wheel Bearing Update
Goal was to lube the innner and outer wheel bearings on '65 3000--stumbled by studs with nuts on them protruding outward through hub flange, all manuals and parts books showed these as bolt heads with threaded part protuding inward, put it back together and started over: After removing the two large bolts holding the caliper to the car and the two small bolts that attach the caliper to the disc backing plate, caliper suspended from shock arm by heavy wire so as not to put tension on brake hose, I then took off the big nut at the end of the hub-axle, pulled the washer and outer wheel bearing off, gave the rotor a tug and off came the rotor-hub assembly. The studs that protruded outward were simply the ends of bolts whose heads were on the backside of the disc--maybe a factory change or just someone put it all together backwards. Everything in hub kind of just came apart with gentle nudges, put grease on bearings, reassembled, and whole deal could be done in 45 min. Thanks to all for comments,
