I took the trunk trim boards out about 4 years ago and they were brand new, hadn't even been on the road. I just went to put them in again and they are too big now. Is it possible they grew???

Perhaps your trunk has shrunk from lack of use?

I could understand that if you were referring to my trunk. Things just ain't the same as they used to be.

Bill,

You know the humidity is way up!

As George Costanza used to say, "It's the shrinkage factor, it's the shrinkage factor!!!"

"Like a frightened turtle."

I measured that board 3 times! and it's still too short!

Ok, a lot smart answers (I like the Costanza reference) Anybody ever had them grow?

Hey, they are fiber and they accumulate moisture. Yes, they grow. Mine first went in easily, now they have to be jambed in. I would think that panels in a desert clime would shrink. Just an observation.

I would say toss 'em out into the sunlight for a while, but you live in Seattle. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Suppose to be sunny for a few days. think I will toss em in the sun

Definitely the trunk shrunk, get ready to go someplace and try to load it with things, it'll happen again.

Those trunks shrink all the time. You need a trunk stretcher... it works a lot like a shoe stretcher, except for it comes from the UK and costs 500 times more.

A must have for every British car garage! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

And it almost fits.....

Nice one Tom; have similar problems myself!

I assume you guys are really saying that your butts are getting bigger, not your seats shrinking......

I notice that my steering wheel seems to be getting closer to my stomach. What's up with that!
