Hi, TR4CB -

My suggestion would be to check ebay and other online/magazine sources to see what the market is. Hemmings, Old Car Trader, etc. From your picture, it looks like a nice one, but not knowing anything else about the car, it would be difficult to judge.

Currently there are several on ebay, and prices are anywhere from $2500 to $5500 (auctions aren't over yet).

Hope this helps.

Mickey

I'd suggest to also check your local area, as close as possible. Unless you plan on selling it over the internet, the final price will depend on your local area. The same car might bring alot more in Southern California, as compared to the upper Eastern Snow region. I just sold my 65 IRS in the Chicago area for $4000, it was a runner, but was not show car. Good Luck

ive got somemore pics. I like it but I dont use it much and im trying to decide whether to sell it or hang on to it. do you think this model will go up in value if maintained?

Looks like it is is pretty nice shape.

Is it going to go up in value if maintained? Probably yes.

Is it going to make you a gazillionare? No... A ten-thousand-aire? Not for a while.

If you like it and it makes you happy then hang onto it. If you think you might kick yourself for selling it in 5 years hang onto it. If you are done with it then let it go. As an investment it is never going to pay off (in my opinion). You could put another 30K into it and still not get more than 20K for it.

Keep it, if you sell it you'll kick your a55 later
I have seen 4A IRS appraisals in the $12,000 to 15,000 rage this year

Your TR4...is worth...nothing....drop it off at my house...directions to follow.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Assuming that didn't work, I'll say that TR4s are, after far too long, coming into their own and really beginning to increase in value. Personally, I really like the earliest ones with the painted dash, etc., etc., but they're all nice in their own way. I almost wonder if, in the not-too-distant future, TR4s might catch up with and perhaps even surpass the sidescreen cars in terms of prices asked. Hard to say....

Hold onto it if you can, and try to use it more! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the advice guys. The real problem is that I also have 2000 miata and one of them has to go. I dont use the miata much more than the tr4 but it really handles nicely and I dont have to worry about it breaking down on me but then again its got that girly thing goin. I dont know which one to let go but i know that i cant keep two convertibles that i barely use, help!!!

My vote... Sell the Mee-Ah-Tah to some girl and keep the real sports car. But, I must admit being a little biased. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

(Hmm. This should get me flamed!)

Well... since you asked this question on a Triumph forum then I think you know where the answer is going to go.

Lose the Miata. How many people do you know with Miata parts stashed under their beds and read Miata service manuals just for fun? You can go find 20 Miatas in 5 years for next to nothing.
