My boss came in today with a set of 13" Ace Mercury Discs from an early midget he had when he was younger. I know very little about them other than that they were offered as an option. Searching on Google gave little information other than that they were offered on A's B's and midgets. He is thinking of selling them, but wants to know what they are worth. It has become obvious that they are kinda rare. Thanks guys

Ace Mercury covers for the MGB seem to be rare-er than for the Midget. There was a set of three Midget covers on eBay a few months ago, but I don't think I have ever seen a set for the B.
Period pictures of Bs and Midgets actually wearing the Ace Mercury's are pretty rare, too.
Mike Allison's book "The Magic of the Marque" has a picture of a Midget with them on the car, but that's one of the few.

If they went for that price, I'm bummed. A few years ago, I pitched a set because I thought they looked hideous!
Now I've got a set of the American wire "baskets", that I think I'll hang on to!

I was about to say I'd give him $100 for the 4 if they were in good, undented condition - guess I'm way off base!

His are very similar to those pictured except they don't have paint on the centers. They are actually really nice... made from aluminum, so they could be polished back to like new. Told me before he left he would sell them for $300 bucks. They are of no use to him... doesn't ever see himself getting a British car again

Outa my league - he'd better try ebay.

Not sure why you would be skeptical. He just wanted to know what they were. If I know him he will use them as Frisbees at one of his summer cookouts. He brought one in for me to see, and I figured you guys would know what they were. Not sure why that makes a seller not credible. Seems like a strange comment and makes little sense to me. Must be a Mi thing i guess!!

It's a joke, like Roswell the home of the alians.

Oh, I think it was just light hearted humor...

....I guess I need to post disclaimers,...before I post my BS....

I was talking about the seller in Roswell Ga.

Next week, I will be posting my favorite recipies.

Hey, Box -

Got one for mulled cider? I have the cider part, but can't find any mull. When I ask about it, the guys at the grocery store look at me like I'm from Roswell. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif
