What's for Dinner?

Offline
Got the big grill going tonight. We're having flame kissed NY Strip Steaks the size of valve covers, pan fried potatoes, and grilled corn on the cob. CAB to wash it down, and homemade NY style cheesecake for desert.

Must've hit 80 here today and after walking 2 miles of water line (marking it's location), I'm ready to sit down and relax with my big plank of meat and a frosty beverage. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thirsty.gif

What are you having?

pork chops
asparagus
yams

swmbo is on an organic food kick. i'm suffering...

[edit] broke down - went to the store and bought some kraut beer. life is much better now...

Fresh caught snook cooked in olive oil
asparagus with curry
boiled red potatoes w/ fake butter

Learn to enjoy it, you'll live longer.

2 x gas station microwave cheeseburger, salt & vinegar chips and a diet 7up.

COME BACK Alan!!! We'll pound yer cholestorol levels back up to death-cheatin' numbers in NO time!

Tonight's board will be grilled burgers and steamed veggies, baked spuds with butter 'n sour cream... CAB and Chocolate Swirl ice cream fer fun.

Burgers on WHEAT buns, of course! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

BTW, the best comment all day was "Why didn't they just run the water lines on telephone poles? It'd been sooooo much easier to locate." That was after trapsing through the woods and briar bushes (and up and down some of the steepest hills AL has to offer) all day long tracing the underground 12 inch line with RF locators.

When I said the above, the two other guys with me, fell out on the ground laughing.

Homemade Philly cheese steak Pizza. Fresh roast beef covered in 3 cheeses. MMMMMM the kids love it!

kenny, how ya haven "n.y." stake when ya be in "alley-bam-her" thought that might be eeeleegull! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Well, since you asked,

Tilapia with breaded crabmeat dressing, cheddar/chive/potato casserole, and caesar salad. YUMMMEEE!

Corned Beef (slow cooked all afternoon by the most wonderful husband) mashed potatoes, green beans, and cabbage. For dessert, Fresh Strawberries, shortcake w/ whip cream.

Mickey- that sounds realy good if you just remove
that fake fish Tilapia and stick with the breaded
crabmeat.

We have Tilapia farms here on the island. If
you ever looked into one of them fish farm ponds,
you'd never eat Tilapia again! Right nasty, they are.

Walking distance away is fresh Snook in the surf.
Now THAT's a fish worthy of crabmeat dressing.

Yeah, yeah - I know. But remember, we're MILES away from decent fish sources. Have to take what we can get.

Actually, the recipe would be good with catfish. And I can get that FRESH close by, along with trout. Hmmmm....

PS: Nice lookin' snook there Tinster (a bit small though aren't they? Fish & Wildlife might give me a ticket for them here!!)

whatjewtawkinbout Mike?

Ole Tinster stands proud at 4'-7"
Them snooks are easily 22 inchers
when viewed in that perspective.

Hey, I plead the fifth- new boat, new
fancy pants ultra-light spinning reel and
graphite rod plus first fish caught=
fish fry to me.

PS: wish we had catfish here on the island.

PSSST! Dale... in past, rumor has it: a local unknown craft had a small gas grill aboard on a "Z" pole of stainless so's to hang it outboard... "Snack fish" never made the dock. Said craft never wanted for chum either. All the "food" cooler held was some burger buns and ground beef... and jars of tabasco & tartar sauce.

This is strictly an unconfirmed rumor, BTW.

Hey DR

It's been suggested by some of the crew-

"a small gas grill aboard on a "Z" pole of
stainless so's to hang it outboard."

some nice, whole quaquanche, dusted with adobo and
sizzled would hit the spot any time of day or night.

greek - local restaurant. all the snow had one benefit - we could get a table. the place is usually heaving.

Panseared tilapia, orange ginger. Steamed all the fresh veggies I had in the frig in a big pot, made a big salad, asparagus risotto.
