Weekend get-a-way to a small beach resort
on the other side of the island-
Spring conference shindig for the Caribbean
U.S. Power squadrons. Nice drive, good food,
good friends, good weather.

What doing in your neck of the woods?

dale :savewave:

Watching the snow melt, then fall again.

Repair hydronic heating (again!)

Continue inventory at air museum.

Watch "Thirteen Days" (1962 missile crisis)

Roast a pork loin (not lechon, por desgracia ...)

Continue caulking to cut down on indoor asian beetle infestation.

Wash car.

Begin construction of latest mechanical television model.

Finish McCullough's "John Adams"

Fix other things as they break (entropy never ends!)

Don't forget the Daylight Savings Time changeover Saturday night!

Tom

My BGT is going to a new home very soon :cryin: (NOT to a farm, where my wife suggested it should go!), so I'll get her ready and then take advantage of the space in the garage to move things around.
If time and temperature permits, I'll prepare the Midget for her engine pull.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Well, I have the usual "honey do" list of things to take care of as well as catch-up on work for next week, and there is also the "Hot Rod Chevy Sunday" out at Moroso Speedway that a friend wants to drag me along to! If it's a typical weekend, I'll get half of what I want to done!!

British car day @ Cars and Coffee. Change out leaky kitchen faucet. Barnstorming the canyons on the sportbike. Gotta sandwich the chores in the fun stuff.

Watchin the ice build up on the trees.... Scraping the ice off the sidewalks. Dodging downed tree limbs and enjoying the fireworks display as said tree limbs take out power transformers......
Oh yea and waiting all afternoon for Sears to deliver our new matress only to call them an hour after the delivery window and find out that all deliveries for today were cancelled (due to the weather). THANKS FOR CALLING US!!!! JERKS!
Tomorrow's Lasagna day at church. yummy.

Headed out early this morning in my big Dodge truck bound for Mississippi to pick up my V8 car that's been in a body shop for several years & they've not finished it yet! Got about 2 hours away from home when my check engine light came on. A quick check of everything under the hood showed no problems.

Turned around & headed home....went to the shop that does all the maintenance on it & they found 4 different computer codes about problems but they require the dealer to solve (software issues)....so, Monday its to the dealer for them to interpret the codes & repair (I'm thinking: replace the computer).

Next Saturday I'll try again - & my '59 MGA Coupe is supposed to come to Alabama this week - & I'll need my truck to bring it home!

stare out the window at a new layer of snow and watch it warm back up from a 3 degree evening into the 20's...had the week off in between contracts (absolutely terrible weather) now starting on a new contract Monday and of course this week's proposed to be finally in the 50's. Timing is everything..

I worked on my quilt and left the garage to "the boys". My 13 year-old told me he wished he could work with Dad in the garage like his older brother used to. So, I made myself scarce and left them to the garage. Sometimes boys need "boy time"

Shoveling and shoveling and shoveling. I wish I could get my hands on that blasted groundhog. The snow has drifted up to the bottom of the windows almost.

Went to the VRG (Vintage Racer Group) dinner last night in Pittsburgh.

Terrible drive down & my "prepare to walk light" came on coming home....
(I made it)

But I got to bench race w/ a bunch of fanatics, drink Flag Porter & have some rather good fish & chips.

Trying to recover my seats for the '74. I got part of the way there when I found two lovely mice nests in the seat back cushion. Both about baseball size. Luckliy a friend had new cushions so, back to square one and starting again.

I wish, but under the circumstances.

Went out of town to celebrate 82nd birthday for Mom.

Good food and fun time visiting with family. No time
for the engine rebuild. That part sucked.

Came home early this morning (Sunday) to attend
another Eagle Scout Court of Honor. Received from that
scout a Mentor's pin. Choked me up...again. Does it
every time.

On the net trying to formulate my next plan of attack
on the engine. Crystal ball shows little time for
car tinkering. Dang. Ate too much cake this
weekend. Dug it, though.

I should have been at the beach as the last rays of summer fade. Instead I was fitting lash (valve) caps to my valves after I got it back from the mechanic. A new exhaust valve was fitted and the head cleaned and inspected for any further damage.
I sourced the valve caps from a VW mechanic, 5/16 (8mm) at reasonable cost. Buying them from a engine performance specialist can double the price for the same product.
Keep on fishing.........
Regards
Craig

Saturday I was the imbedded photo journalist for at my daughter’s 5 year birthday party with about other 25 screamin’ little heathens.

Let me tell ya – I wished I’d had a flackjacket & helmet because I felt like duck’in for cover more than a couple of times. But I was a professional and kept the film rolling at great personal risk.
