We're going to a dinner party with friends this evening
since we've no family. Dale and Wendy are bringing one
of Dale's world class, rosemary/garlic roast leg of lamb
with a side pot of curry swedes and carrots. Wendy got's
the vino chore. A live string trio will be playing festive
period music. Our friend Jan is cooking up a huge turkey.

It will be a grand time by all.
Yeah Ben, a private party at the Nut House!!

So whatcha cooking tonight??

Going to my daughter's this afternoon where she has a brined turkey and other stuff on the menu. We have to bring the garlic mashed potatoes.

Christmas to us is a standing prime rib with Yorkshire pudding.

I had Yorkshire pudding in a pub in Yorkshire - I'll never forgot the
mouth watering flavors. Eat a few bites for me!! The Mrs is from Yorkshire.

Fried turkey, rice dressing, cornbread dressing, cranberry sauce, sweet 'taters, etc., etc.

Pumpkin, mince meat, and pecan pies.

Good thing this is only once a year!

But I get a practice try in November with Thanksgiving....

Deviled eggs as an appetizer that the MIL just brought over. Then, Spiral cut Honey ham, Braised Carrots, Brocolli and Keugal (sp). Apple Pie ala mode for desert with a side of homeade shortbread cookies. Any minute now.

Turkey, stuffing, peas, carrots, turnip, gravy, cranberry sauce, cabbage salad, jellied salad, cabbage rolls, and a ton of desserts, and only 40 for the meal. Sometimes it feels like a soup kitchen.

Just finished!

Smoked salmon with cream cheese on toasted home-made pumpernickel.
Roast pork shoulder with winter savory.
Carrots, parsnips, red onions, potatoes with olive oil and rosemary.
Red cabbage baked with apples and vinegar.
Anadama bread.
Guava, papaya, and passion fruit.
Mince pie with whisky hard sauce.
Lemon pudding with custard sauce.

And it got up to 50 today! Back to "wintry mix" for the weekend.

Yesterday was hectic, but great. It was dinner at my parents house, Turkey, stuffing, mashed pototoes and gravy, squash, devilled eggs, cranberry sauce, rolls, and pumpkin and apple pies for dessert.
Thanksgiving part duex! yummy!
TOnight I am heading north for an overnight meeting of a team for a retreat weekend (I'm a musucian) and the guy I'm catching a ride with has mentioned stopping at a favorite resturant up where we're going. It promises to be good. Details tomorrow night when I get home.
I'm sure it ain't on par with "nut house" cuisine, but that's one of the reasons why I gotta get my crew back down to PR soon!
Merry Christmas, and Happy three kings day Dale!
