what's been done over the winter

Just coming out of hibernation.
Wondering what folks have been upgrading or new products found over the winter.
Been relativeley quiet for me 70 TR6.
1. Put in a new bosch 60a alternator, found a guy selling them for $75 delivered, thought that was pretty good.
2.Replaced fuel filter with a nice summit racing model, relocated to suction side of pump, looking for a neat shutoff valve to make changing filters easier.
3. repacking front bearings and bleeding hydraulics today, yuck!
4. Started right up this year : )found a neat battery tender at a local honda motorcycle dealer, about $30 well worth the set and forget for winterizing.

All good stuff. Especially #3 (which I think gets ignored way too often).

That's good stuff you did this winter. Is there any concern that the 60 amp Bosch alternator will be too much for the existing (35 amp or so) wiring?

My winter list includes a new Isky Z-19 cam, APT hardened lifters, Schumacher's shortened tubular push rods, new rear bronze alloy thrust washer on the #4 main, new valve guides/valve work, shaved 0.120 off the head for about 9.5:1 CR, and an electric cooling fan setup that eliminates the stock fan and extension. I'm certainly enjoying the end of that work now.

Most of my pals with LBCs don't live near me, so I don't get to gossip about my car restoration in cold weather. So since we're doing true confessions about our winter work, here goes for what I've done to my GT6 over the winter:

> J-Type overdrive conversion and a rebuilt 3 rail gearbox;
> All new poly suspension bushes & new ball joints;
> Carrera front springs and coil-overs in front and Monroe gas asjustables in rear;
> New transverse road spring;
> New Metalastic rotoflex couplings (in about a week);
> New, extra gauge dash with added voltmeter, clock and dual oil/water gauges.

That's most of the heavy stuff. More to come later this summer.

I don't think I ever stopped working on mine in the fall long enough to know winter had come around.

Sounds like you guys have been busy! I still need to replace my master cylinder and investigate a rear end noise, but I did get my valves adjusted and fuel pressure regulator installed.
Simon.
